Village of Pleasant Prairie, Village Green Center

We’ve been working as a community, municipality, and steering committee on the masterplanning for the new Village Green Center. We’re excited to show the conceptual site plan above, as presented to the plan commission on June 25th, 2020.

There will be a full, public, open house once we are able to gather as a community once again, and the community will be notified of the scheduled date well in advance.

Vision Statement

The Village Green Center will establish an inclusive, vibrant community core that connects people, celebrates nature, and provides compelling opportunities for sustainable development in an environment that is authentically Pleasant Prairie.

Design Drivers

Identity: Reflect Pleasant Prairie’s namesake as a welcoming and safe community, nestled within the prairie.

Vibrancy: Create a progressive and destinational environment with “nowhere else” experiences.  Create a “wow factor.”

Community Connections: Establish an all-season village epicenter that provides people flexible places to gather, connect, and enjoy community experiences.

Inclusivity: Promote inclusivity through accessible infrastructure, diverse use programming, and multi-generational community amenities.

Walkability: Develop a densely planned community that promotes active, social lifestyles and minimizes the need for vehicular use within the village center and surrounding neighborhoods.

Mobility: Integrate multi-modal transportation options and design infrastructure to anticipate future alternatives.

Natural Connections: Celebrate nature by integrating the landscape with interconnected green/open spaces, promoting outdoor recreation opportunities, and respecting environmentally sensitive areas.

Sustainability: Promote sustainable development through ecologically - friendly infrastructure design.
